About Essex Orthopaedics & Optima Sports Medicine:
Our practice is an independent, busy orthopaedic practice comprised of 6 surgeons and three Physician's Assistants. We offer on-site physical therapy and imaging including x-ray, MRI and ultrasound. Our mission is to pursue the highest quality orthopaedic care for the patients who have granted us their trust with consistency and determination. Our team provides each and every patient the most convenient, timely, compassionate, ethical and cost-effective care possible.
Job Summary:
This position directly supports orthopaedic surgeons and physician assistants in the provision of orthopaedic care for patients in an office setting and occasionally in a surgical assistant role for outpatient surgical cases.
Qualified candidates must:
- Have at least one year of casting experience
- Be a Certified Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, or Orthopaedic Tech
- Perform clinical assessments of new and established patients of the practice for the physicians and physician assistants.
- Assist the providers in treating patients including but not limited to: casting, exercise programs, navigation of diagnostic testing, and fitting durable medical equipment
- Interface via phone and secure messaging with patients who have clinical questions or requests of the surgeon or physician assistant they support
- Manage surgical scheduling for surgeon(s) and physician assistant(s) they support
- Demonstrate excellent customer service
- Be extremely organized
- Be very comfortable on the phone
- Be proficient at using a computer
- Have a track record of dependability including good attendance
- Be able to work in a very fast-paced environment
- Be willing to work multiple roles on a team
Preferred characteristics of candidates include:
- Experience with Athena Clinicals
- Familiarity with surgical scheduling and preoperative requirements
- 3+ Years of experience in a medical office, preferably in Orthopaedics

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
