Overview:
To coordinate evidence-based asthma management and education through the patient care continuum and continually assesses opportunities to implement quality improvement and/or research-based interventions. This person provides education to patients, families, care providers, and community organizations in order to promote quality care for asthmatic patients. The person summarizes and reports the quality outcomes that result from this collaborative and comprehensive approach to patient care and from the empowerment of patients and families to care for themselves. This person provides supervision to direct reports; including performance review evaluations, scheduling/staffing, staff competencies and professional development.

Responsibilities:- Provides direct supervision for the Asthma Educator role in a manner that supports and promotes the goals, objectives, service excellence and the mission and vision of Children?s Mercy Hospital.
- Participates in asthma related Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance, Research and/or Evidence-Based Practice.
- Facilitates a consistent and high quality experience for asthmatic patients and their families across the continuum of care.
- Coordinates community outreach to promote appropriate asthma management throughout our service area.
- Bachelor's Degree Required and 3-5 years experience Experience in clinical specialty area or healthcare education.
- Master's Degree Preferred and 3-5 years experience Experience in clinical specialty area or healthcare education.

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $25.71, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home:This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
