ASSOCIATE, WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE

The Warehouse Operative (Picker/Packer) is responsible for carrying out general warehouse duties as directed by the Warehouse/Operations Manager. This qualified individual will have awareness of and follow all warehouse safety procedures. To work as part of the Warehouse the qualified individual will work efficiently and timely in processing customer orders. The ideal candidate will have a positive “can do” attitude, a strong willingness to learn, pleasant personality, and the ability to follow directions.


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare customer orders which includes picking of stock and merchandise
  • Sort through inventory, label, and pack items as instructed by warehouse management
  • Unload cartons, build boxes, and follow instructions as from warehouse management
  • Examine and compare merchandise with order requisition
  • Establish productive working relationships with colleagues
  • Ensure accuracy in all paperwork and delivery quantities
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, other warehouse staff concerns of safety violations and follow all safety guidelines
  • Maintain effective communication with Warehouse manager and supervisor
  • Cross-train to perform additional warehouse operative responsibilities
  • Maximize return to stock items by cleaning, re-packaging and re-labeling as needed
  • Work with inventory control to ensure system adjustments are made as product is placed back on shelves
  • Assist with organizing and monitoring non-stock and packaging inventory
  • Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
  • Perform other reasonable warehouse duties and tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 6 months work experience in a similar environment, required
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as assigned, required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Proven experience with accurately counting items
  • Working knowledge of EDDIE and RF units
  • Must have ability to learn to drive forklift/reach truck
  • Must complete an additional background screening conducted by the U.S. government

  • Ability to maneuver throughout facility without assistance
  • Ability to bend and reach for merchandise without constant assistance
  • Ability understand verbal instructions
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to push or pull carts of up to 100 pounds without assistance
  • Ability to climb stairs without assistance without assistance
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and grasp products
