Associate Scientist, Molecular Chemistry Waltham, MAYour tasks:
As a member of the Miltenyi Biotec team, you will be responsible for developing and improving the chemistry workflow. Additionally, you will participate in the development of all aspects of sequencing chemistry technology related to the NGS workflow. You will improve current workflows/processes in creative and effective ways through the use of appropriate process improvement methods. As a result of your ability to present results, conclusions, and implications to project teams and senior management, you will support the continued success of Miltenyi Biotec as a whole.
Among other responsibilities, you will:
- Contribute to protocols and development reports.
- Play a key role in the development of future improvements, technological advances in Miltenyi NGS platform
- Participate in the transfer of processes, technology, and assays to/from internal and external collaborators and outside vendors.
- Independently plan, implement, and complete significant projects with appropriate level of supervision.
- Mentor and develop staff as assigned.
- Participate in scientific meetings and share appropriate results and data.
- Prepare reagent buffers with SOPs and carry out lab procedures and SOPs as required to support lab needs.
- May be assigned additional tasks as needed
Requirements:
- Relevant Bachelor's degree with 5 years laboratory experience or Master's degree; 3 years laboratory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Analytical or prep HPLC and with wet organic chemistry (synthesis and purification) is a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to blood, viruses, bacteria, body fluids and other tissues. Employees entering and leaving the laboratory must wear appropriate clothing and protective equipment such as scrubs, coveralls, masks, glasses, and gloves. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
