Job Description


Eurofins BioDiagnostics, Inc. is a leading provider of seed testing services to the seed industry with customers worldwide. Eurofins BioDiagnostics (EBDI) uses state-of-the-art DNA, protein and analytical chemistry-based technologies to help customers reduce time to market and produce high quality seed.

Eurofins Bioanalytical Services is searching for a trait purity department associate scientist in River Falls, WI.

Associate Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Communicate effectively, work cooperatively, and promote inclusive team culture.
  • Direct sample flow and preparation in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure written protocol accuracy and efficient execution of written protocols.
  • Propose and communicate process improvements for trait purity lab testing.
  • Communicate labor needs of team.
  • Participate in general laboratory maintenance. Maintain clean working environment.
  • Maintain appropriate volumes of solutions, inventory & supplies.
  • Assist coordination of training trait purity seasonal staff.
  • Coordinate planting, evaluating, and confirmation testing within the scope of trait purity department.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Participate in and document lab protocol & development initiatives.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate would possess
:

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, promote inclusive team culture, and motivate & inspire team to achieve lab goals.
  • Positively impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of the lab team.
  • Role may require high levels of evaluative judgment due to fluctuating sample volume or interpretation of test results.
  • Computer competency and working knowledge of Microsoft software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in electronic communications
  • Accredited Registered Genetic Technologist with the Society of Commercial Seed Technologists. Lab may sponsor candidate for accreditation process.

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science in a field related to Agriculture or Laboratory Science is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, promote inclusive team culture, and motivate & inspire team to achieve lab goals.
  • Good attention to detail, ability to effectively work in a team environment and communication skills are required for this position.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn to use lab specific hardware and software as needed.
  • Must be willing to cross train departments as needed.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
