Job Description

The Renewables Consulting Group (RCG) is a specialized expert services firm dedicated to the global renewable energy sector. We are a firm of practical consultants known for our independent advice, technical expertise, industry foresight, and sleeves-rolled-up approach to projects.

From strategy to implementation, we serve businesses, governments, and non-profit organizations around the world with management consultancy, technical advisory, and economics services for both mainstream and emerging energy technologies. We work with the public sector, private equity and financial services firms, utilities and project developers, equipment manufacturers, and engineering and construction companies for on- and off-shore wind, solar, and energy-storage projects.

RCG has principal offices in London, New York, Vancouver, Glasgow, Barcelona, Taipei, and Tokyo.

We are in search of a Associate to join our specialized expert services firm, focused solely on the global renewable energy industry.

Roles and responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conducting detailed research, analysis, and fact-finding on energy-related issues
  • Preparing reports, presentations and other documents for clients and internal purposes
  • Assessing technologies and market trends
  • Undertaking data collection, spreadsheet creation/maintenance, and statistical and economic analysis
  • Supporting the regional and functional heads in securing new consulting engagements
  • Assisting with the development and expansion of long-term client relationships leading to repeat business
  • Supporting with the delivery of all aspects of client engagements
  • Pursuing continual improvement and excellence in customer service
  • Building relationships with, and understanding the capabilities of, colleagues in other offices, regions, and practices
  • Communicating and sharing information with clients and co-workers effectively and frequently

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in management, finance, economics, engineering, environment, public affairs, or related discipline
  • Three years’ experience in the renewable energy sector
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent conceptual and quantitative/qualitative analytical abilities
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under sometimes pressure-filled conditions simultaneously
  • Demonstrated track record originating and delivering renewable energy projects
  • Flexibility to travel frequently by various modes of transport as required by the business
  • Proficiency with standard industry software tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project)
