Associate Software Engineer to support the Polk Automotive Solutions Operations team. This position is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining systems that allow for the delivery of external customer deliverables. This is a Developer role, however Business Analyst skills are also required. Candidate would be expected to manage all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for multiple projects.
General Job Duties
- Building, analyzing and troubleshooting custom reporting and maintaining a book of assigned cyclical tasks and customer deliverables.
- Strong communication skills in writing and speaking to help gather requirements.
- Strong organizational skills required. Candidate should be able to multi-task and be a self-directed team player who thrives in a continually changing environment.
- Demonstrate aptitude in following structured documented procedures and ability to pick up new technologies.
- Ability to perform data analysis and problem resolution.
- Some experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from various sources, using tools such as PL/SQL and Python.
Specific Job Duties
The role day to day duties includes but not limited to:
- Gathering and interpreting business requirements
- Fully developing and documenting program utilizing various technologies
- Performing unit, functional, and system testing
- Creation and testing of new and existing cyclical workflows
- Troubleshooting and optimizing existing process flows
- Data Analysis with large volume data
- Working on several small projects at the same time
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelors of Computer Science, Management Information systems or similar experience
- 1 to 3+ years of work or school experience in programming
- Strong SQL skills (Oracle preferred)
- PL/SQL experience
- Java, Python, Unix, and Talend experience is a plus
- BA skills like requirements gathering and test case generation is a plus
- Strong communication skills
