Position Overview
Daily Harvest is looking for an Associate, Financial Planning & Analysis ("FP&A") to join our growing Finance team. The FP&A function is responsible for leading the annual budget process, tracking performance against budget and updating forecasts throughout the year, and preparing key reporting materials to communicate business results to the leadership team and external stakeholders.
Reporting to the FP&A Manager, the Associate will be exposed to many moving parts within the business and will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders across the company and deliver insightful analyses to help drive short and long term business goals.
What you'll do:
- Maintain the company cost of goods model and prepare monthly gross margin performance and forecast reviews
- Lead optimization discussions with partners on the operations team, regularly monitoring for opportunities and risks, as a subject matter expert on cost of goods
- Generate recurring + ad-hoc materials for the leadership team and external stakeholders (e.g. monthly reporting, quarterly board decks, annual budget presentation)
- Collaborate with functional leaders to prepare annual budgets and update expectations throughout the year
- Build, maintain, and improve financial reporting processes to measure, track, and communicate results against expectations
- Track and analyze performance, using data-driven insights to help functions make decisions
- Partner with Accounting to understand financial drivers and resolve any discrepancies in reporting
- Be an advocate for financially-driven decision making across the organization
Who you are:
- 2+ years of Finance experience in an analytical or strategic role, with preference for experience at an investment bank, high growth consumer goods and/or a public company
- A relevant bachelor's degree with a strong academic track record
- Strong financial modeling in Excel and a solid base in both accounting + finance
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
- The attitude of a team player, possessing a strong work ethic and drive for results
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-moving and constantly evolving high-growth environment
- Self-motivation and the ability to juggle an array of tasks, work independently and proactively develop solutions
