Job Title:

Job Summary:
University of San Francisco (USF) is recognized nationally and internationally as a leading Jesuit Catholic, urban University with a tremendously diverse student and faculty population and a global perspective. Established as San Francisco's first institution of higher education in 1855, the University is deeply embedded in the intellectual, spiritual, and cultural life of one of the most innovative, diverse, and dynamic cities in the world. USF presently serves over 11,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in Arts and Sciences, Education, Law, Management, and Nursing and Health Professions and has 1,217 faculty members. The University is currently engaged in the largest campaign in the University's history to date. The Changing the World from Here: Campaign for the University of San Francisco is aimed at raising $300 million for scholarships and financial aid, programs, and new learning spaces. To date this campaign has raised over $270 million in an effort to expand the reach and impact of USF's mission while engaging our over 100,000 alumni around the world.

USF is currently investing in significant growth of its fundraising capacity. The next five years will be especially transformative as the Development division closes out our Changing the World from Here campaign, and enters the planning phase of the next campaign; the Associate Director of Foundation Relations will play an integral role in this process at an exciting time in the school's evolution.

The Associate Director's focus will be identifying, cultivating, soliciting and closing first time 5- and 6-figure foundation, corporate and major gift donors, positioning the highest rated prospects for Campaign commitments in the next 12-36 months. To achieve fundraising goals, the Associate Director will effectively manage the participation and involvement of volunteers, faculty, staff and other senior university executives with fundraising efforts, including developing individualized donor strategies, preparing strategic briefings, and arranging for appropriate follow up.

Working closely with the Associate Vice President of Development and the Dean for the School of Education, the Associate Director manages relationships and secures support from donors at the $10,000+ level, paying particular attention to funders capable of making gifts in excess of $50,000 in order to achieve a yearly goal of $700,000 to $1,000,000. A key focus of this role will be expanding the corporate and foundation pipeline for the School of Education.
