About The Design Team
The Rejuvenation Product Development team consists of highly creative, collaborative, and technical thinkers. As part of the team, you’ll collaborate with designers and engineers to develop thoughtful products from concept to launch. Our role is to create both practical and innovative products with a story to tell.
Overview Of The Associate Designer Role
As an Assistant Designer, your efforts will be to support the Hardware and Kitchen & Bath teams to design and development high-quality, beautiful, functional items. Areas of focus cabinet hardware, bath hardware, bath mirrors, and ownership of metal finish developments. Each session you will work closely with the Head Design Manager and VP Creative Director to translate concepts into cohesive product designs.
Responsibilities
- Participate in historical design research and market research to create concepts and design strategies for Hardware and Kitchen & Bath.
- Utilize parametric CAD software, such as Autodesk Inventor, to create 3D models for presentation renderings and technical specs.
- Creating technical specifications for vendors to follow for quoting and development.
- Produce thorough comment sheets for developments.
- Work directly with global offices/vendors and domestic partners to develop designs.
- Follow SOPs to develop cross-functional metal finishes from concept to approval for production. The results of these metal finish developments will be applied to hardware and lighting categories for production.
- Organize and maintain development samples, swatch libraries, and finish developments.
- Update and maintain the design development tracker.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Participate in product development meetings.
- Communicate ideas clearly and efficiently.
- Present product and concept ideas to design, merchandising and sourcing teams.
- Mail and track packages.
Criteria
- Have a minimum of 3 years product design experience, preferably within the housewares industry with a focus in hardgoods.
- Design and product development skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the production of technical drawings.
- Experience in using parametric 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, Solidworks, etc.) and Adobe Creative Suites (Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop).
- Highly collaborative and passionate about design.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and across all functions and levels of the organization.
- Highly motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the willingness to dive in and get things done resourcefully.
Possess strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple projects at a time.
