Associate, Actuary

TITLE : Associate Actuary (The Prudential Insurance Company of America)

LOCATION: Newark, NJ

DUTIES: Research and develop new products and product features. Analyze mortality and demographic assumptions for pension liabilities. Responsible for financial modeling and pricing execution for pension risk transfer transactions. Develop and enhance actuarial models used for cash flow production, Statutory and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) reserves, and policyholder behavior. Collaborate with the Asset Liability Management (ALM) group on investment assumption development and execution for pricing funded transactions. Provide timely, accurate and insightful pricing analytics to facilitate confident decision-making and to achieve business goals. Collaborate with business and corporate leaders to determine and implement optimal pricing strategies that balance competitiveness and profitability while ensuring compliance with Enterprise Pricing Standards. Support internal efforts to secure necessary approvals both from Prudential Retirement's leaders and other governing bodies across the Prudential Enterprise. Implement efficient and robust pricing processes and ensure compliance with Model Risk Policies and End User. The Prudential Insurance Company of America is EOE.

REQTS : Must have a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, or a related field plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as a Senior Actuarial Associate; Associate Manager, Actuarial; or a related position. Must have three (3) years of experience with: VBA; MATLAB; C++/C#; actuarial models used for liability projection; statutory and GAAP reserves; policyholder behavior and assumption study; longevity-underwriting; investment or Asset Liability Management (ALM); mortality and demographic assumptions for pension liabilities; and economic projection models.

HOURS: Full-Time; Mon-Fri (37.5 hrs/week)
