Job Description
JOB SUMMARY Provides classroom support for a Lead Teacher as they guide the classroom through a lesson by preparing materials, interacting with students and supervising projects. Assists in the daily management and supervision of the classroom and children, as directed by the classroom teacher.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Assists and supervises children during all activities. Counsel children when social, academic or adjustment problems arise.
- Develops plans and prepares instructional aids and materials for classroom activities.
- Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained, in accordance with NAEYC cleaning and sanitizing guidelines.
- Assists children with mealtimes and clean-up.
- Assists with all academy and classroom paperwork: for example, daily notes, accident reports, daily procedures checklists, assessments, and attendance reports.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested.
- Assists with preparation and implementation of classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules.
- Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly.
- Responsible for attending workshops, conferences, and in-service training.
- Reports any problems to the teacher-in-charge and follows the chain of command.
- Reports to the staff manager and/or director when not able to attend work.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel is not available: for example, may answer telephones at the front desk, or may assist supervisor with doing headcounts, or cover for a teacher who calls out, temporarily leaves, or goes on vacation.- Assists with planning and implementing academy-wide events; such as graduation, open houses, fall festivals etc.
- Meets with prospective families; communicates appropriately with potential new customers.
- Performs other similar or related duties as necessary to meet staffing needs.
- All employees are required to receive 24 hours of training each calendar year per state requirements.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet state requirements for the position.- Candidates must have a clear background check to qualify for employment, and understand that random drug tests may be required.
- Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high.
STATE REQUIREMENTS (Our facility assists in acquiring and completing all state requirements) Before entering a classroom, candidates must possess the following:
- Valid SS and ID
- TB test
- Temporary Blue Card/Sheriff Card
- $11.50 money order (covers the cost of Nevada Automated Background Check System)
- CPR certification
- 12 hours of Continued Education Online Trainings
- Out of state background checks
- Nevada Registry Certificate (eligible once all 90 day requirements are satisfied)
