Assistant Shipping Supervisor

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Position:

• Responsible for direct supervision of union hourly employees.
• Responsible accurate loading of all trailers and accurate timely inventories.
• Will monitor shipping waste and suggest improvement measures.
• Will train new employees on safe operation of forklift and yard truck.
• Position may require travel, must have a valid Ohio Driver’s license
• The position will rotate between plants and must have the flexibility to work any day of the week and any shift including weekends and holidays.
• Eligible to participate in the Profit Sharing/401k program with company match up to 6%
• Bonus eligible
• This position is nonunion salary (exempt):

Requirements:

To be eligible to apply for this position you must have:

• Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) and forklift operation certification preferred or ability to obtain those within the first six months in the position.
• Above average math skills, ability to calculate data, numbers, decimals, fractions
• Positive attitude with excellent communication skills (verbally, reading and writing)
• Ability to work in a team based work environment
• Computer skills: Proficient with (word, excel, email)
• Knowledge of food safety, quality requirements and good manufacturing practices (GMP)
• Must be dependable, flexible, self-motivated and able to work without supervision.
• Valid Driver’s License, reliable personal transportation to drive between plants.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred. High School Diploma required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
