Job Description


Your Role:

As an Assistant Quality Manager, you will responsible for assisting the Quality Manager in improving all internal and external plant assurance of quality systems. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development of the plant’s quality plan to help create and maintain a customer-focused organization. In this position provide basic understanding and functionality of the plant’s quality assurance area. You will assist the Quality Manager in working with all departments in quality issues and in preventative and corrective actions. You will serve as plant leader and primary participant in all supplier certification programs.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assists plant team in setting and maintaining quality objectives and assures plant quality objectives are being met.
  • With direction from the Quality Assurance Manager identifies appropriate tasks and schedules required training to accomplish goals and continuous improvement in the process.
  • Assist in organizing and understanding customer satisfaction based upon product and service performance.
  • Works directly with all departments in quality issues and in preventative and corrective actions.
  • Facilitates problems solving activity through TQM, team building and quality systems tools and methods.
  • Works with the line and process supervisors in identifying negative quality trends and repetitive defects.
  • Assists in the problem-solving process.
  • Participates as a customer liaison, ensures consistency of 5 UPS, makes customer visits as appropriate and assist in implementing customer quality management systems.
  • Assist QA Manager in investigating customer complaints.
  • Works with appropriate management to resolve issues.
  • Assists process managers in preparing customer complaint responses and maintains data base on all customer complaints.
  • Is learning and applying technical expertise in problem identification in the following areas:
  • Glass properties/bottles design/attributes
  • Line/handling requirements
  • Carton specifications/makeup/requirements
  • Customer processing o Fracture analysis
  • Works with plant management team to develop standard operating procedures.
  • Works directly with all departments in quality issues and in preventative and corrective actions.

Qualifications


About You:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred Completion of Perrysburg OMDP program
  • There may be some travel associated with this position for training and/or project work
