Assistant Project Manager, Construction

For the Assistant PM role, we are looking for confident and capable leaders that can support design project management team on managing projects from conception through the building opening and handoff to facilities.

The ideal candidate shall be capable of managing multiple projects at a time in various stages and shall be able to work in a fast pace environment while keeping teams focused and on track. This individual shall have experience at various stages of development including but not limited to due diligence, estimating, contract management, people management, etc.

The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with the Project Manager to provide the highest level of project management support. You will collaborate with cross functional team to track project deliverables, lead management of project initiatives, and support the project manager in delivering the project on time and on budget.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a Project Manager, assist in the planning, organization, control, integration and completion of KATERRA building projects
  • Communicate effectively with cross disciplinary teams of architects, designers, engineers, manufacturing and estimating staff
  • Generates and organizes contracts & RFP’s
  • Generates and maintains estimates, variance logs, and change orders
  • Tracks quality control reviews of deliverables
  • Tracks meeting minutes and action logs
  • Interfaces with designers, engineers, manufacturing, construction and more to resolve conflicting and or ambiguous design, cost, and constructability information
  • Updates billing and tracking
  • Assists in project forecast budgets

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2-5 years of engineering, architectural, construction or project management experience in related markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills; candidate should be energized by working with different teams, both internal and external
  • Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects and teams concurrently. Comfortable learning new software platforms to track and organize project information
  • Technical background with understanding of building engineering and commercial projects; prior experience in multifamily and mixed-use projects a plus
  • Detailed knowledge of resource planning and financial planning
  • Proficient experience with management/ accounting software, i.e. Jira, Primavera, Smartsheets
  • Excellent writing, organization, and communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to navigate in a fast pace environment
  • General knowledge of construction principles and practices
  • Team player that’s passionate about innovation and driven to optimize and build better buildings and products
