Curry College is seeking an Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2021. Responsibilities include leadership of the Film Production concentration within the Department of Communication. Courses to be taught include: Digital Film Production I & II, Lighting and Cinematography, RED Camera, and Screenwriting and the potential to teach or develop other courses in the concentration. As needed, this appointment may require teaching other courses in the Communications Department depending upon need and qualifications.
The position requires proficiency in film/digital production, cinematography, pre-production, post-production and related software including, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut, Final Draft and Avid products. Knowledge of digital cinema cameras like RED, Canon DSLRs, and video storage servers, like Edit Share, is important. The desire to work closely with students one-on-one, to oversee student productions, and serve as a mentor to film students is critical.
Position includes the responsibility to continually assess programs for learning effectiveness, to continue to develop and expand the film and digital program, advise students, assist in loaning/procurement of equipment, and participate fully in departmental and college-wide service and activities.
The faculty member will assist in the coordination of the program (i.e., course scheduling, budget oversight, recruiting students, and program enhancements), and work with Career Services for advising, mentoring, and employment of majors in Film/Video.
The selected candidate must continue to develop both her/his personal work and reputation as a filmmaker.

Minimum Qualifications:
MFA or Ph.D. with significant experience in professional film production.
Experience with students of diverse learning styles a plus.
At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
