Job Description

I.A Engineering, P.C. is a fast growing consulting engineering firm. We have an immediate need of full time Assistant Office Engineers for our existing and upcoming projects in NYC boroughs.

Responsibilities/Duties;

The applicant will have the following day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Review plans and specifications at the construction site and/or field office for the construction operations being performed
  • Facilitate, coordinate and expedite the review of shop drawings, RFI’s, payment quantities verifications on inspector daily reports, documenting changes to contract drawings and processing all change orders.
  • Attend project meetings, recording and distributing meeting minutes.
  • Review and approve daily inspection reports and payment quantities in accordance with agency’s requirements.
  • Preparing Change Orders for overruns, changed conditions and additional work.
  • Assist the Resident Engineer with field inspection of water and/or sewer installation, as well as other utilities, and roadway restoration, when required
  • Monitor progress, verify quantities and ensure compliance to engineering plans, specifications and construction, safety standards and specific agency requirements
  • Report site results and on-going information to the senior inspector or resident engineer

Qualification/Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college is a plus but not required
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in construction inspection or management on infrastructure construction projects (highway/sewer/water).
  • Must be qualified for NICET Level I/II/III; EIT, or CCM a plus
  • Experience with NYC DDC, DOT, and software PIMS (Project Information Management System) is preferred
  • ACI Grade 1 concrete field testing technician certification is a plus
  • OSHA 30 certification is a plus
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferable, but not required.
