Position Summary

Working in the retail store, Assistant Manager provide courteous, knowledgeable outstanding customer service through excellent product knowledge and superior Manager skills. Assistant Manager supports all sales efforts in the retail store through outstanding customer service, products prepared according to The Congregation’s highest standards, and a commitment to quality in all the goods the company offers. The Assistant Manager position works directly with the General Manager (Owner). Ample training will be provided for each department to assist with executing.

Assistant Manager Job Responsibilities (in addition to daily department responsibilities):

  • Act as liaison between team and general manager.
  • Opening/Closing procedures, including cash handling, balancing drawer and properly account for all cash on premises.
  • Ensuring company policies are followed.
  • Resolving customer issues to their overall satisfaction.
  • Maintaining an overall management style that follows company best practices.
  • Providing leadership and direction to all employees.
  • Ensuring product quality and availability.
  • Working closely with the general manager to lead staff.
  • Aid general manager in team performance reviews and help with scheduling those reviews.
  • Participate in recruitment and dismissal processes.
  • Overseeing inventory and reporting to general manager when inventory is low.
  • Develop strategies to improve the customer experience and increase efficiency for the workplace.
  • Assisting customers whenever necessary.
  • Ensuring that health, safety, and security rules are followed.
  • Taking disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Ensuring a consistent standard of customer service.
  • Motivating employees and ensuring a focus on the mission.
  • Maintaining merchandise and a visual plan.
  • Maintaining stores to standards, including stocking and cleaning.
  • Monitor spending patterns including inventory and waste management.
  • Completing tasks assigned by the general manager accurately and efficiently.
  • Supporting general manager as needed.
  • Cover for absent team members and general manager.

Status: Hourly; Non-Exempt Status

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $42,500.00 per year
