As an Assistant Manager on our Defined Benefit Operations and Quality team, you'll lead and mentor a team of Retirement Benefit Analysts to ensure high quality, efficiency, and timely service, meeting customer expectations. You'll play a key role to acquire, service, grow and retain profitable business through effective talent management, process improvement, workflow, metrics, and business literacy!
Here are a few examples of the types of things you'll do:
- Manage a team in a manner that ensures high quality service and foster a culture that supports multiple product lines and meets business goals.
- Direct and prioritize to support workflow and processes and balance work assignments for team members.
- Lead and develop team members, including hiring, training, talent management, compensation administration, rewards and recognition, performance management, coaching and mentoring. Take appropriate and timely disciplinary action.
- Identify and analyze escalated problems and provide guidance to team members for resolution. Act as a liaison with internal and external customers and negotiate solutions when necessary.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal partners in order to identify and understand customer and business unit needs and objectives.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
- 4+ years related experience required.
- While formal leadership experience is preferred, will consider informal leadership experience.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational/ leadership, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of retirement business and customer service requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
