Job Description
We are hiring driven Assistant General Managers! Wages start at $16.20 per hour at this location and are commensurate with experience.
The position provides managerial and administrative leadership to operate one company-owned restaurant in the United States under the direction of the General Manager. This is the 2nd person in charge reporting to the General Manager and, when the General Manager is absent, is the top manager present in the designated restaurant and is accountable for the restaurant and operations at those times. This person directs the work of team members, both managers and crew. The Assistant General Manager exercises discretion and independent judgment in performing his or her duties in alignment with the scope of authority provided by the General Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
With the General Manager, responsible for managing the restaurant, including oversight overall store operations from production to guest service areas; direct the work of team members, both managers and crew
Assist General Manager as necessary to ensure restaurant meets performance expectations
Coach and role model McDonald’s guest and service experience
Assist General Manager with designated people processes, including but not limited to: (a) recruiting, interviewing, onboarding and training managers and crew; (b) assessing the work of crew and providing performance feedback/evaluation and assigning training/development plans; (c) preparing recommendations to support hiring, and employee status changes such as promotions or terminations
Provide an environment that fosters continuous employee development, learning and teamwork; set the example through coaching and personal development planning
Manage inventory levels to meet operating needs and budget; prepare inventory forecasts and ordering recommendations for General Manager approval, and ensure related activities are coordinated (e.g., receiving deliveries); perform trend analysis on food costs to inform planning
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist General Manager with Business Planning and Community Engagement as may be required
2. Ensure food safety is always maintained and in accordance with procedures; ensure team members understand their role and are up to date on training and procedures
3. With the General Manager, perform and assign maintenance activities to ensure restaurant meets or exceeds standards of excellence
4. Assist General Manager with monitoring and implementing legal compliance measures in the restaurant
5. Appraise team members’ (both managers and crew) productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotion, termination, or other change in status to General Manager
6. Work with team members (both managers and crew) in the operation of the restaurant on as needed basis, often concurrent with performing managerial duties
7. Other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School or GED required
Demonstrated experience leading a team in a fast-paced managed environment
Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team with professional maturity
Must possess strong business acumen, be independently motivated, assertive, and possess ability to delegate effectively
Achievement oriented with strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Strong oral & written communication skills; English language proficiency; an ability to communicate in a second language
1-3 years customer service management experience or US military service
Ability to work full time with variable hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
