Job Description
The Assistant Field Manager is responsible for assisting in providing procedural expertise and coordination
of the activities associated with new home construction. This includes, but is not limited to: job site
management, subcontractor scheduling, quality control, customer relations and budget management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrates a desire to understand the full homebuilding process, homebuilding safety guidelines,
architectural plans, state and local codes and materials/labor specifications
  • Communicates with sales, purchasing, homeowners, trade partners, building officials and others to
successfully execute the homebuilding process
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of relationships with all trade partners/field
personnel. This includes, but is not limited to: conducting weekly meetings with superintendents,
inspecting work, approving payment for acceptable work, managing contract adherence and
providing input on trade partner selection
  • Provides excellent service to homeowners related to construction process, including but not limited
to: scheduling; general homebuilding communication; during preconstruction, new home orientation
and through first year
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of construction scheduling; execute scheduling in appropriate
sequence and stage to ensure homes are completed in a timely manner
  • Performs constant quality control management within homes and on job sites; Ensures job sites are
using correct quality of material per plans and specifications; coordinates material handling
  • Maintains OSHA and EPA compliant job sites; complies with and ensures associates comply with
company safety and quality control standards
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Area Manager, Senior Field Manager, Field Manager, and/or
Director of Construction
Requirements –
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or
Project Management preferred
  • General Contractors license preferred
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Knowledge of trades, UBC and local codes preferred

Work Environment –
This job operates on construction sites where temperature, weather and noise may vary. This position may
encounter electrical, dust, poor ventilation, dangerous machinery, moving objects and toxic conditions.
Physical Demands –
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is
required to sit; stand; walk and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to exert minimal force of up to 50 pounds and occasionally exert up to 80
pounds of minimal force to carry, lift, push, pull and otherwise move objects. Must be able to climb ladders,
scaffolding and other means to reach and observe all others of building.
Position Type/Hours of Work –
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
