Responsible for serving as the primary contact for information and media requests for several sports. Respond to requests from media, the Patriot League and NCAA for statistics, information about student-athletes and interview appointments for student-athletes and coaches. The Assistant Director writes feature stories for publication on the website, serves as the primary statistician for several sports and participates in the ongoing process of updating the Lehigh Athletics website. 1. Administration- Assists by completing mandatory reports, attending meetings and responding to supervisory requests
- Assists in managing the athletics department website
- Writes press releases, game recaps, feature stories and posts to web
- Prepares game notes
- Assists in managing sports photography
- Participates in social media communications
- Assists with archiving of historical data and materials
- Maintain NCAA and league compliance requirements
2. Management
- Daily decisions about the allocation of own time and resources to address program initiatives
- Managerial activities include problem identification, problem solving and problem avoidance as related to team or individual publicity and media needs and opportunities
- Choosing photographs to match written event summaries for website

This position is funded by soft dollars; there is no severance associated with this position
Variable shifts/schedule
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
One to three years related work experience
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a high level of customer service required
Familiarity with statistical software packages used in sports events is a plus
Ability to build, foster and maintain positive professional relationships
Excellent organizational skills, time management and sound judgment
Solid writing ability, attention to detail and decision making skills
Excellent computer skills with experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software
Successful completion of standard background checks including but not limited to: social security verification, education verification, national criminal background checks, motor vehicle checks, PATCH, FBI fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance and credit history based upon the requirements of the position
