Summary
Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid with oversight from the Associate Director of Financial Aid for Online Programs, this role is responsible for assisting students and families with all processes associated with financial aid for graduate and professional students and applicants.
Functions
- Assist the Financial Aid leadership in the day-to-day operations of the Office of Financial Aid.
- Ensures the College functions in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws with regard to financial aid and loan distribution.
- Contribute as a member of the Financial Aid team and the Center for Student Services, assisting colleagues with high volume processing when necessary.
- Manage all aspects of a student financial aid caseload, including, but not limited to counseling students and families, performing federal need analysis, application verification, awarding and outreach.
- Perform Return of Title IV (R2T4) Funds calculations with strong attention to modular registration.
- Compliance Officer - Ensure Regis is in compliance with federal financial aid regulations as well as internal policies.
- Participate in Regis College functions and represent Regis College at off campus events.
- Present workshops and give presentations.
- Travel frequently to satellite campuses in Massachusetts.
- Conduct entrance counseling and the Master Promissory Note process via Zoom; other programs may be assigned.
- Remain current on all federal and state regulations and best practices.
- Process federal and private loan programs for caseload.
- Stay up-to-date on alternative loan program rates and terms.
- Assist with financial literacy programs.
Other Responsibilities
- Attend professional meetings and seminars to remain abreast of current regulations.
- Update the departmental website.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and two to four years of related experience.
- Ability to uphold the College’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse learning community.
- Ellucian Colleague experience.
- Experience counseling graduate and non-traditional students and modular registrations.
- Experience with online students highly preferred.
- Zoom capability for student meetings.
- Strong front-facing customer service orientation and commitment.
- Knowledge of financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of student financial aid need analysis.
- Ability to recognize College-wide priorities and work cooperatively to support their accomplishment.
- Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans and recommendations.
- Leadership, planning, organizational, and supervisory skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to establish positive relations for the College and to interact effectively with a wide variety of people.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- May require an alternate schedule and occasional nights and weekends. Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in temperature, noise, odors, etc.
- Regularly uses computer keyboard, requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
- More than half of time spent in normal office setting.
