DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate the strategy to drive corporate learning, direction, and policies.
- Monitor departmental operations to ensure effective coordination, information flow and policy compliance.
- Develop and recommend plans, policies, and programs designed to improve departmental and Citywide efficiency and effectiveness. Resolves inter-departmental operating problems.
- Direct and coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures in compliance with City Charter and ordinance requirements.
- May meet with employee, governmental, business, professional, civic and other groups to discuss, interpret and explain City/departmental policies, programs and objectives.
- May have City-wide responsibilities and authority over various broad areas.
- Establish and coordinate a variety of special projects.
- Serve as an advisor to the department director.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Seven (7) years of administrative experience are required, with at least three of those years in a managerial capacity. A Master's degree may be substituted for two years of experience.
Preference will be given to applicants that:
- Have previous leadership experience in adult learning and development
- Have HR certifications
- Enrollment/completion of a CLO post-graduate program
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6** GENERAL INFORMATION
