Assistant Director, Career & Professional Development

Job Description
Assumes responsibility for strategically creating and guiding the work of student-focused career programming, specifically dynamic and robust career community development and related career pathway and experiential learning efforts. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's students.

Description of Key Responsibility: Expertly creates and/or sources web content specific to assigned career community or affinity cohort assignment drawing upon experiences and skills. Establishes, cultivates and maintains relationships with specific industry and alumni contacts in an effort to provide students with high quality networking, engagement and career-exploration opportunities which will enhance their educational experience. *

Description of Key Responsibility: Assists the Executive Director in short- and long-range departmental planning initiatives and resource allocation. Actively supports the identification and implementation of policy and/or procedural changes designed to continuously improve departmental operations. Assists in the oversight of departmental budgets, ensuring prudent fiscal management and oversight at all times.

Description of Key Responsibility: Collaborates effectively with peers in the Career Studio in an effort to assist in employer relations initiatives, career fairs, affinity programming, and events, as necessary and/or appropriate.

Description of Key Responsibility: Develops and delivers career development workshops and programs which include, but are not limited to, self-assessment, occupational choice and planning post-graduation outcomes, including both relevant online content as well as printed materials. Reviews efficacy of programming and implement changes as appropriate.

Formal Education:
Bachelors Degree required

Work Experience:
Normal office situation, Requires travel, including overnight stays.

Requires regular external contacts to discuss issues of moderate importance and to respond to inquiries. Also requires continuing contact with the public involving enforcement of regulations, policies and procedures.
