Job DescriptionRobson Communities HOA is looking for a dynamic, adaptable, and devoted Assistant Controller!
- With our flexible work schedule, we offer half-days on Fridays, and normal business hours Monday through Thursday.
Upon completing 6 months of employment, this will turn into a hybrid opportunity.
In This Role, You Will:
- Manage accounting close process and continuously improve processes to scale with the organization.
- Manage the accounting for our 5 growing resort style Homeowners Associations.
- Oversee the general accounting, AR, budgeting, cash projections and analysis.
- Responsible for building and leading a service-oriented team and related processes and internal controls to facilitate the flow of information, the timely processing of transactions, and the resolution of discrepancies.
- Review journal entries and various account reconciliations to facilitate the month end closing process, including bank reconciliations and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Manage monthly close and reporting process, ensuring all postings are complete and accurate and meeting reporting deadlines to onsite managers and Board of Directors.
- Maintain company chart of accounts, including updating chart of accounts as a result of department requests for new accounts.
- Liaise with external auditors to provide support for audits and tax returns.
- Assists in preparing annual financial statements
- Assist with the management and administration of the HOA specific accounting software, Northstar Technologies.
- Assist with on-going maintenance of the Company’s system of internal controls. Responsible for updating and documenting processes and procedures within the finance department and ensuring on-going compliance.
- Participate in contract reviews to provide accounting guidance and ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting analyses and policies.
- Work with onsite managers, finance committees and board members to report, educate and problem solve questions related to the financial reports
- Assist and support various cross-functional projects, as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, CPA a plus
- Demonstrated success in accounting roles of increasing responsibility,
- Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize work, and establish and execute plans to meet tight deadlines.
- Process-oriented organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial report preparation
- Experience with financial systems, including major ERP a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
