Job Description
Virginia Military Institute is seeking applications for a part-time Assistant Chief of Staff in the Commandant’s Office for the 2021-2022 academic year. The incumbent shall perform duties as directed by the Assistant Chief of Staff for Cadet Life. Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Acts as a liaison between the Commandant’s Office and several agencies
  • Reviews and updates general orders, standard operating procedures, and various other documents
  • Supports COVID-19 operations as needed
  • Assists in barracks occupancy studies
  • Manages cadet activities, clubs, MWR events
  • Performs various assignments tasked down from members of the Commandant’s Staff

Minimum QualificationsThis is a 1500-hour maximum position for the Academic Year 2021-2022.
Anticipated salary is $22.00 per hour.
  • Refined written and oral communications skills;
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Facility with information technology skills (including the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • The position is best suited for an individual who possesses initiative, discretion, and the ability to work both independently and collegially with others.


Preferred QualificationsCollege coursework leading to a degree and/or equivalent relevant experience.
