Under the general supervision of the Centennial Beach Manager, the Centennial Beach Assistant Manager position is responsible for all frontline customer service operations and guest service staff. Major duties include cash control, all Active net transactions, event coordination, scheduling of Guest Service Attendants and handling customer inquiries. The Assistant Beach Manager assumes the role of the Beach Manager when the Beach Manger is not present.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee all cash handling operations. Follow all park district policies related to proper cash handling procedures including balancing cash and preparing appropriate reports (i.e., daily cash statements, receipts, and deposits)
- Assign and schedule guest service staff for specific duties and daily tasks. Effectively communicate job expectations and Park District directives, and ensure completion of assigned duties and tasks. Assist with addressing any guest service staff job performance deficiencies.
- Maintain open communication with the Beach Manager regarding facility and cash house operations. Work collaboratively with the Aquatics Manager and Beach Manager to evaluate and continually improve processes and procedures.
- Foster a team environment among guest service staff, and between guest service staff and other Centennial Beach staff.
- Prepare daily/weekly inspections and daily activity logs. (i.e. lifejacket inspections and vehicle inspection)
- Monitor supply and equipment inventories and report needs to Beach Manager.
- Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties to maintain a safe, clean and friendly environment for guests, co-workers and the general public.
- Exercise mature judgment in administering rule enforcement for those who violate Beach safety rules.
- Refer with Beach Manager in cases of disciplinary actions for patrons.
- Assist customers with facility/group rentals and process application permits according to District policies.
- Respond quickly to phone calls and any customer complaints or inquiries.
- Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management. Assist with annual loss control review process, aquatic audits and required health department inspections.
- Demonstrate, enforce and support park district customer service standards.
- Follow and model compliance with all District, State, Federal and departmental safety and risk management, personnel, administrative policies and procedures, ordinances and regulations. Perform Centennial Beach Manager duties in their absence.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Assist the Centennial Beach Managers in daily operations.
- Maintain open lines of communication between Beach staff and the organization as a whole.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to attend to customer needs).
- Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.
- General knowledge of aquatic safety, liability, and risk management practices.
- Ability to learn new software.
- Demonstrate multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills.
- Two (2) year of experience in cashier or money-related field and/or customer service-type position preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions.
- Subject to modified/flexible work schedule during high volume work periods.
- Ability to lift or carry medium weight (50 lbs.) objects.
