Reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer, the Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist in the supervision and conduction of all phases of a comprehensive athletic health care program for the 14 Emmanuel College varsity teams, Dance Team, Cheerleading, and college-sponsored club teams. This supports the Mission of Emmanuel College through a commitment to traditional and graduate programs distinguished by strong human values and a Catholic heritage.
Essential responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for providing comprehensive care and prevention of athletic injuries including coverage of team practices and contests and provide health care services in the athletic training room
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in coordinating pre-participation exam and medical appointments with the team physician
- Exercise working supervision of athletics and athletic trainings students when appropriate.
- Responsible for offering conditioning and training programs as solicited by student athletes and coaches.
- Assist with inventory and advise on the purchase and proper use of protective equipment, exercise equipment and supplies.
- Monitor the progression and development of student athletes in their training and rehabilitation
- Maintain accurate reports on all patients treated.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Provide direction and support for student athletes in their training and preparation
***This is a 10-month per year position. Candidates must be available to work some nights and weekends.
Job Requirements:
Our ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree from a CAAHEP-accredited athletic training program, with current NATABOC certification. Master's Degree preferred. Massachusetts State licensure in Athletic Training or eligible. CPR/AED certification. Strong interpersonal communication and computer skills are desired.
