APM JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
The Asset Protection Manager (APM) works directly with the Sr APM and the Vice President(s) of Operation (VPO). They are responsible for directing and coordinating the AP Department efforts and initiatives in partnership with the VPO, District Managers and Store Teams to achieve maximum effectiveness in controlling loss within their assigned Territory. The APM oversees the AP Operations of approximately 150+ stores. They are held accountable for all investigations, controllable lines of shrink, cost of risk, training and assessments to ensure operational and procedural compliance.
- Work closely with assigned VPO(s), District Managers and Store Teams to drive strategic objectives
- Work with business partners to execute programs which support areas of profitability, inventory excellence and business continuity
- Maintain and track inventory and outlier performance for each store in assigned area, pursue trends in and devise improvement strategies in partnership with the VPO(s), District Managers and Store Teams
- Manage Territory Shrink Program to include analyzing trends in shrinkage, determining root cause, devising improvement strategies and providing recommendations to address opportunities and gaps in execution in partnership with the Operators
- Perform comprehensive audits of assigned region to analyze business operations and ensure policy and procedural compliance
- Conduct VPO Territory, District and Store Team Asset Protection training both in person or via telephone
- Participate in VPO Territory and District visits and/or calls as necessary, to strengthen partnerships and improve the overall awareness of the AP Department’s efforts and initiatives
- Present findings (patterns and trends) and proposed solutions to executive leadership
- Manage investigations, audits, store visits, and other duties as assigned
- Manage Secure Store exception based reporting software to identify areas of loss or exposure within the company
- Initiate, manage and document all investigations relating to internal theft, external theft, fraud and policy violations
- Conduct face-to-face and/or telephone interviews with team members suspected of internal theft, fraud or policy violations
- Assist in coordination of physical security programs (alarms, CCTV, safes, etc.)

- Must have proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
- 5 years of asset protection experience
- 3+ years of multi-unit experience
- Pass extensive background check
- Ability to work nights, evenings and weekends appropriate to retail business needs
- Certified in Wicklander/Zulawski methodologies on interview and interrogation techniques are required. Certified Forensic Interviewer preferred
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or three years multi-unit related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Up to 60% overnight travel may be required to complete the requirements associated with this position
