C & S Sweeping Services, Inc. founded in 1979 in Cleveland, Ohio has developed and maintained a solid reputation for providing the highest quality and service within the commercial power sweeping industry in Ohio, Arizona and Colorado. We provide our clients with a comprehensive range of power and regenerative air sweeping, dust control, pressurized roadway, milling and trucking services which include environments such as; highways, residential roadways, subdivision streets, lot crusting, new construction projects, municipalities, airports, renovation projects, factories, and commercial parking lots.

C & S Sweeping Services, Inc. is growing, and we are currently seeking a dedicated Asphalt Mill Operator/Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide leadership and direction to project personnel regarding professional standards, work quality and quantity, performance and accountability.
- Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training.
- Interpreting drawings/project specifications and scheduling/planning of work.
- Discusses plans and goals to determine the best method to getting assigned work done safely, productively and on time.
- Operate a milling machine, skid steer with a milling head/broom, loaders, water trucks and/or power brooms
- Perform daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance; make minor adjustments and repairs and report the need for major and minor mechanical repairs to mechanics.
- Interact with the public; respond to service requests; complete and submit vehicle inspection forms, and daily reports
SKILLS IN:
- Properly supervising, managing and coordinating activities of projects and crews.
- Knowledge to inspect, clean, maintain equipment, along with observing milling machine operation and adjusting controls to ensure specified tolerance.
- Reading, analyzing, and interpreting operation plans and procedures.
- Establishing and maintaining positive, effective and cooperative working relationships with customers, supervisors, employees and the public.
- Using initiative, discretion and judgement within established procedures, guidelines and rules
- Managing situations requiring diplomacy, fairness, firmness and sound judgement
- Time management; attention to details
- Providing efficient customer service
- Communicating effectively, (verbal, listening, written) and working under high stress situations.
- Basic asphalt knowledge including milling, paving.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3+ years of experience in milling and supervisory role.
- Must possess valid Commercial class A license with DOT Medical Card.
- Must pass drug screen and criminal background check.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Ability to work nights and weekends when necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Moderate exposure to dust, wide temperature range, noise, vibrations, fumes, harsh chemicals, odors, pollen and grasses, grease, machinery and moving parts, sitting and driving for long periods, bending, stooping, on knees, both indoors and outdoors, and inclement weather, with occasional exposure to hazardous work conditions.
- Frequently required to stand/work on feet for long periods and walking across uneven terrain.
- Must be able to see and hear in the normal range, with or without correction, and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
- Some heavy lifting, up to 100 pounds, and other physical exertion required.
- Must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or varying shifts.
- Must possess the stamina to work long hours and overtime.
