Job Description
The Art teacher will support the district mission by teaching Art to 7th & 8th Grade students 5 days/week during first and second periods at La Center Middle School

Terms of Employment:
- This is a 0.4 FTE (2 periods/day; 5 days/week) non-continuing position for the second academic semester; the total contracted FTE will be adjusted to reflect the length and days of the assignment
- This position is covered by the LCEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
- The successful candidate must be fingerprinted. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check and clearance by the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or medical/religous exemption) per the terms outlined by the Governor of Washington State is required.
- Ability to effectively collaborate to develop confident and self-reliant life-long learners who can thrive in a rapidly changing, more technologically advanced and diverse society
- Current Washington State Teaching Certificate with an appropriate endorsement to teach Art at the middle school level; candidates with other endorsements and a background in Art may be considered
- Demonstrated ability to successfully employ effective teaching methods
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for, and enjoyment in, working with students
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with students, parents and staff
- Ability to incorporate working knowledge of the La Center Learning Model and Ends Policies E-1 to E-4 into daily practice
