The Art Buyer reports to the Art Program Manager and is responsible for building our photography and illustration programs, as well as expanding our talent pool to support aggressive growth and high-quality product output. Requires expert skills in managing artists along with an extensive network of creative resources- in multiple markets. Responsibilities

- Resource Acquisition and Development
- Acquire and cultivate photography, illustration, retouching, and art research resources
- Help build an in-house photography production studio
- Negotiate favorable pricing and licensing terms for photography and illustration
- Maintain legal agreements with individuals and agencies
- Artist relations with an eye to retention while showcasing Callisto’s reputation in the industry
- Evaluate and pilot new talent on a regular cadence to meet high volume targets
- At least 5 years art production experience in a high-volume creative environment
- Extensive stock photography network with established relationships in the industry
- Proven experience as an art buyer
- Experience with photo editing, art production, or studio management a plus
- Wide network of photographic and illustrator resources - individual and agencies
- Familiarity with studio management best practices
- Superior cost and resource management skill
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on transparency and diplomacy
- Adaptability in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
- Bachelor’s degree in Photography or Fine Art, or equivalent education and experience
