This position provides administrative support, enabling the Young Life North Coast area office to function in an organized and efficient manner. This is a 10-12 hour per week position that could have increased hours depending on workload. The majority of these hours will be during the day; however there are days where flexibility to work some nights or weekends will be necessary. It is important that the administrator learns to understand the mission of Young Life and reflect a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities:Verbal and Written
- Answer correspondence, do filing and prepare mailings.
- Answer phones.
- Respond to voicemail, email and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Gather articles and pictures from area staff, and produce and distribute the newsletters.
- Create/modify club/event postcards, flyers, and/or maps.
- Send and/or assist with thank-you letters to donors.
- Interact with area office volunteers, area director, area committee, volunteer team leaders and leaders within area.
Administrative
- Process and track donations.
- Maintain a variety of data sources for tracking of camps, clubs, parents, events, supporters, donors and fundraisers.
- Assist and lead event project management and processes.
- Help coordinate area schedules related to the school season – kid events, leader and committee meetings, outreach and fundraising events.
- Previous administrative assistant experience preferred.
- Ability to type 55 to 60 words per minute with few errors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
- Ability to learn a variety of applications used by the Young Life organization (Emma, Brandcast, Salesforce, Concur, Cognito Forms).
- Able to support staff and volunteers with social media efforts.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and processes.
- Capable of handling concurrent tasks and constant interruptions.
- Good grammar and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Basic bookkeeping skills.
- Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
