Job Description

Wolfram, creator of Mathematica, Wolfram|Alpha and the Wolfram Language, is looking for an efficient and detail-oriented Archival and Administrative Assistant to help digitize historical documents, create descriptive metadata to make them easily searchable and other administrative tasks to support the work and efforts of our CEO, Stephen Wolfram. This position requires a great attention to detail and the initiative to work individually. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position has a great opportunity for growth into research projects ranging from the history of science to current developments in technology.

Responsibilities

  • Digitizing and cataloging historical scientific documents from the extensive collections of Stephen Wolfram
  • Creating and maintaining computer archives and databases
  • Scanning, shipping and receiving packages and mail
  • Processing and organizing documents
  • Communicating with internal and external teams to ensure necessary processes are carried out in a timely manner
  • Running errands for the CEO
  • Completing other special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Technical aptitude
  • High level of initiative
  • Superb organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to use (or willingness to learn) the Wolfram Language
  • Must be available to work nights/weekends as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs
