Interested applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as this recruitment may close at any time.The Assessor-Recorder-Clerk is recruiting for Appraisers II who are responsible for appraising single residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, large commercial, industrial and multiple-unit residential property for tax assessment purposes. Appraisers II use complex valuation techniques such as the income, market and/or cost approach, and reconcile the various approaches to arrive at final value judgments. Offices are located in Big Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks. Current vacancies exist in Joshua Tree and San Bernardino. The list established for this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies as well as future vacancies as they occur throughout the County. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Certification: Must obtain a valid permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization within one year of employment. Travel: Travel throughout the County is required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced for the individual providing the transportation. Offices are located in Big Bear, Hesperia, Joshua Tree, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Twin Peaks.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Possession of a permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the California State Board of Equalization AND one (1) year of experience appraising single residential, moderate sized multiple-unit residential, AND small commercial properties for tax assessment purposes in a California County Assessor's office. Experience must have been obtained within the last ten (10) years. Note: Time spent appraising small commercial properties must be clearly listed on the application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Real Estate; a Permanent Appraiser's Certificate issued by the State Board of Equalization; and three (3) years journey-level appraiser experience in a California County Assessor's office.
