Hardy Process Solutions provides weighing solutions for process and packaging in a variety of industries including food processing, automated manufacturing, chemical, plastics, rubber, and more. We have been offering accurate, quality industrial weighing scales since 1918 and recently celebrated our Centennial year!
This role is primarily responsible for delivering application engineering and project management capabilities for Hardy’s weighing solutions business. The incumbent will also be charged with promoting and delivering systems integration services and technical phone support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Application Engineering & Project Management (Solutions)
- Delivers in-field application and installation support for product & solutions business, pre- and post-sale.
- Plays a key role in ensuring good practices in project management
- Follows established in-house processes.
- Carries out final solutions testing against gated MRD.
- Provides inputs to product management and engineering to help develop and improve new solutions designs.
- Participates in the development of draft content for solutions manuals.
- Helps design, develop and deliver training modules for solutions, and trains the field service team on installations, set-ups and troubleshooting.
PLCs & Systems Integration
- Responsible for promoting and delivering systems integration services.
- Participates in the development of draft “integration” related content for product and solutions manuals.
Technical Support
- Responsible for delivering free and paid tech phone support.
- Records and updates cases in CRM.
- Updates Knowledgebase as necessary.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associates degree (A.A.) in electronics from a college or technical school, or equivalent experience.
- Must have at least 5 years of PLC experience.
- Must have advanced knowledge of Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation e.g. PLCs, HMI’s etc.
- Must have Ladder logic and HMI programming skills and practical experience.
- Should be familiar with small network communications setup/troubleshooting.
- Should be familiar with small I/O device troubleshooting and operation.
- Should be familiar with use of common low voltage electrical testing and hand tools.
- Should have previous experience working for a Systems Integrator.
- Should have previous experience managing projects.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude.
- PackML knowledge would be a plus but not essential.
- Knowledge of IIOT would be a plus but not essential.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Microsoft Office suite experience is required.
- IFS software skills would be a plus but not essential.
- Proven ability to follow through with data entry, product and logistics research, and other tasks related to technical support.
- Must be articulate, tenacious in the face of adversity and flexible when necessary.
- Must be able to work in industrial conditions; this includes the ability to stand for extended periods of time, to walk and climb through some confined spaces and to wear protective equipment inclusive of respirators and other related gear.
- Must be self-sufficient, be able to work flexible hours and travel as needed. Sometimes on short notice with overnight stays and on weekends. Travel is estimated at up to 50%, usually by land and/or air.
