Job Summary

The Application Cloud Operations Group supports all public-facing customer web applications within International SOS. The Application Support Engineer position in ABL will be responsible for building capabilities within the L2 Application Cloud Operations Functions and maintaining and enhancing existing systems to meet client requirements, while enhancing software efficiency.

A successful person in this role will build good relationships with other team members within the ABL group as well as other offshore technical teams and other functional business groups. The Application Support Engineer serves as the trusted IT advisor to the Director of Application Cloud Operations. Software Development of Internet/intranet applications throughout best practices development life cycle; determining design methodologies and tool sets; designing and conducting unit tests.

  • Troubleshoots and triages complex problems with internal/external applications
  • Performs root cause analysis of incidents and aggregates findings to fuel Problem Management processes
  • Recommends system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
  • Leads initiatives by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings.
  • Supports operations team and business users by assisting in developing documentation.
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Job Description Required Skills and Knowledge (Brief description of technical knowledge or skills needed to perform the job)
  • Utilize strong product knowledge to analyze new product requirements and coordinate the activities of the development team
  • Experience with Low-Code development platforms such as OutSystems and KONY
  • Experienced with cloud-based identity and access management providers such as Okta
  • Strong understanding of security concepts such Active Directory, LDAP, SSO/SAML
  • Experience with API management technologies such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, IBM
  • Experience performing integration use cases involving multiple systems and complex business logic tying in system, process, and experience API layers
  • Solid knowledge of: REST, SOAP, HTTP, JSON, XML, WCF

Job Qualifications:
Required Work Experience
  • Minimum 3 years progressive software development experience.
  • Experience leading the development of mid-sized web applications, while utilizing best practices object oriented, test driven methodologies
  • Experience in projects related to travel data management industry
  • Exposure and expertise in leading business and IT teams in the design, development, testing and delivery of large-scale process change is a plus.
  • Experience managing Azure, AWS or other cloud based workloads
  • Prior Experience with DevOps practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in a computer-related field or equivalent experience
  • Professional certifications such as MCTS, MCPD, MCAD, MCSD, Java, J2EE or SQL Server is a plus.
Required Languages
  • English and proficiency in any second languages
