APPLICATION ANALYST II – Enterprise Data Warehouse
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate of Arts degree with courses related to technology from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of related education, training and/or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential job functions.
2. Two (2) years of experience with a Business Intelligence application. Cognos Analytics (v10.x.x or higher) or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (v11.x or higher).
3. Three (3) years of experience with a SQL programming language. (PL-SQL, T-SQL, SQL, or My-SQL) PL-SQL preferred.
4. Two years of experience with ETL programming concepts. Oracle Warehouse builder preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge and commitment to decentralized decision-making, and accountability for results. Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of the team to participate in the implementation of administrative computer applications that achieve expected results. Analytical skills to review information, identify important issues and formulate alternative solutions to problems in area of responsibility. Knowledge of systems design techniques and multiple programming languages. Ability to remain current with changing technology as it relates to Systems Development. Knowledge of software applications and their corresponding functions. Ability to think and function logically in a multi-tasking environment. Ability to plan work and effectively utilize time. Knowledge of data warehousing technical components and business intelligence technologies. Knowledge of data base architecture and designs, star schemas, dimensional models, and data marts. Knowledge of business intelligence dashboard components and architectures.

JOB GOAL:
To analyze processes to facilitate, design, integrate, develop, test, implement and support enterprise student applications in support of district priorities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Describes physical conditions of this position.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.
? Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, accurate, courteous and empathetic
manner representing OCPS in a positive light.
? Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including
communications, organization and management tasks.
? Provide services that support the development life cycle of enterprise automated student
applications necessary for compliance with state statute, school board policy, and operational
efficiency. Assignment and responsibility will be specific to a minimum of one of the following
functional areas: Student registration, demographics, school assignment, scheduling,
attendance, student behavior, pupil progression, gradebook, grades, report cards, test scores,
one identification card, and Florida DOE requirements.
? Work with subject matter experts to acquire and keep up-to-date a knowledge base of the
Learning Communities and district operational processes in assigned area at a level sufficient
to analyze and support systems and processes of moderate complexity to resolve problems
expeditiously, offering alternatives where appropriate.
? Produce estimates of time to complete assigned tasks; maintain and meet agreed upon
schedules that achieve desired results meeting quality expectations as district and Learning
Community needs evolve.
? Prepare documents for systems, components, and programs as assigned.
? Work as a team player to achieve results. Must be able to build positive working relationships
with database administrators and ETL developers.
? Participate in the analysis of business requirements for the EDW as they relate to business
intelligence.
? Apply skills toward resolving issues related to the BI backend environment.
? Keep the senior business intelligence team member within the EDW team informed about
issues and incidents about which they should be aware.
? Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the
district’s instructional initiatives.
? Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
? Develop leadership in subordinates.
? Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the
support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level
required to perform in current position.
? Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality
of information maintained by those they supervise.
? Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends and
best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.

? Essential Performance Responsibilities
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Non-bargaining unit compensation plan, twelve months, 8.0 hours per day.
EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
