Job Description
Tilson is looking for motivated Accounts Payable Specialist to handle high volume vendor invoices data entry and full cycle accounts payable. This position can be based out of our Portland, ME headquarters or work remotely within the Northeast. Tilson’s Portland office is an activity-based work space.
General Responsibilities:
- Review, code, process and route vendor invoices for approval and posting to AP module. (high volume could be purchase order related)
- Process expense reports for final review/approval in Concur.
- Monitor Concur activity and send requests to employees with past due transactions.
- Monthly supplier/vendor account statement reconciliations; request missing invoices and credits as needed.
- Processing normal monthly rents, company services, utility bills, and their applicable payments
- Entering all other approved bills into accounting database (legal, insurance, other professional services, etc.)
- Assist Accounting Manager or Senior Accountants with any month-end or closing tasks applicable to the AP department.
- Responsibilities may vary as the company continues to grow.
- Assist with special projects as needed
Job Requirements:
- 1-2 years of Accounts Payable experience in automated environment. Preferably full cycle AP experience.
- Self-starter, dependable and systems savvy
- Industry experience in construction, engineering or technology is preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or similar field
- Knowledge of Sage 300 software is a plus
- Proficient in MS Excel. Candidate must be able to do VLOOKUPs, PIVOT tables, pre-formatted tables, complex formulas, conditional formatting, troubleshoot errors, develop templates, etc.
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Work extra hours is required from time to time
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with minimum supervision in a deadline driven organization
Ability to prioritize work load and handle multiple projects at time.
