Job Description
Job Summary
The Animal Control Officer works in the Police Department and reports to the Animal Control Supervisor. Responsibilities include enforcing animal control ordinances, capturing and securing stray animals, representing the City in court on animal cases and assisting with adoption efforts. This position is also responsible for handling citizen complaints regarding animal violations, issuing warnings or citations, supplying food, water, and medications to animals, sanitizing the shelter and picking up dead or disabled animals. Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required college desirable. Experience in animal control techniques and customer service required. Veterinarian training or animal control certifications preferred. Job Description
