UHY is on the hunt for a self-motived individual who wants to join a fast-paced and growing middle-market Corporate Finance team.
This role will be focused on performing buy- and sell-side financial due diligence services on behalf of a broad range of financial and strategic buyers & sellers as well as privately-held business owners (sell-side diligence) within the dynamic middle market. UHY Corporate Finance offers a culture-focused, entrepreneurial team based in Michigan, covering a national footprint. Consultants will be deeply involved with all aspects of the financial due diligence process from client development to transaction closing.
- Execute financial due diligence (buy-side and sell-side) engagements including:
- Working collaboratively with senior team members, clients, and target business management teams;
- Collecting financial information from the target business / managing the diligence request list;
- Performing financial analyses on the target business (margin assessments, trend analysis, price volume analysis, cash proofs, key data reconciliations, etc.);
- Supporting management discussions and correspondence;
- Supporting the preparation of key deal analyses (Quality of Earnings, Net Working Capital, Debt & Debt-Like, etc.);
- Writing reports and supporting delivery of findings to clients.
- Cultivate key client relationships through advisory work.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and supervision to junior team members.
- Exposure to transactional support for capital raising, restructuring, and traditional sell-side investment banking transactions and strategies
- Robust analytical skill-set with an understanding of integrated financial statements and the underpinnings of accounting
- Advanced in Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, research, and time management skills in a professional setting
- Strong quantitative and technical skills with financial modeling training and/or experience
- Ability to learn quickly, multi-task, adapt to new assignments, and work effectively and efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Creative mindset with ability to distill complex concepts into simple and elegant presentation
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct
- Proven record and ability to manage multiple projects and engagements for various clients
- Self-motivated, driven, and intellectually curious individuals
Experience and Education
- At least 2-3 years of audit / corporate finance / transaction advisory service experience
- 1 – 2 years of corporate finance / transaction advisory service experience preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) designation preferred
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance with strong academic performance
Legal / Compliance
- Must complete acknowledgement of Corporate Policy and Compliance Manual
- Must complete acknowledgement of Employee Manual document
- Must complete acknowledgement of Independence Guidelines and Ethical Standards document
- Governmental engagements require ability to obtain a security clearance from the United States government.
