Company Description MAAP is a one-on-one, community-based mentoring program focused on supporting youth and their families and connecting youth and families to resources in the community. CASES Manhattan MAAP is guided by three primary principles related to mentee engagement: 1) Healthy Relationships, which depend on consistent engagement; 2) Interest-building which can promote sustained youth engagement as the young person identifies and works to pursue interests and aspirations; and 3) Civic Engagement, a form of advanced engagement that can empower youth to see themselves as positive agents of change/service in their community. Overview: The NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) has selected CASES to implement the Mentoring and Advocacy Program (MAAP) for youth involved in, or at high risk for involvement in, the criminal or juvenile legal systems. CASES MAAP will serve youth residing in Manhattan who are referred by ACS from the Family Assessment Program (FAP), the Juvenile Justice Initiative (JJI), or residential placement in Close to Home.
