As a Corrections Health X-Ray Technician you will provide technical health care support to incarcerated persons, including radiological exams at the Multnomah County Adult Jails.

As an on-call you will be expected to be flexible in providing clinical services between our two adult Correctional facilities:

  • Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC)

  • Multnomah County Inverness Jail

As a valuable team member, you will be responsible for the following areas:

Clinical care:

  • Performing radiological exams on patients; position and immobilize patients; operate radiological equipment and process radiographs, as ordered by physician or nurse practitioner. Perform radiological exams according to prescribed safety procedures.

Administrative Support

  • Reviewing releasing provider orders in EPIC. Updating the Corrections Health Scheduling system.

  • Maintaining patient records by labeling x-ray film with patient name, date, view, and explore factors; maintaining quality assurance records; observing the confidentiality of patient medical records. Archive patient records according to HD retention guidelines.

  • Transporting images to EPIC imaging to be read.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by course work in anatomic areas, radiation use, and safety to qualify for a limited permit., AND
  • Experience: No experience is required. One year of x-ray experience is desirable; AND
  • Licensure: Possession of Limited Diagnostic Radiologic Technology permit from the Oregon Board of Radiologic Technology with qualifications in at least the following anatomic areas; chest, spine, extremities, and pelvis; AND
  • Certification: BLS/CPR certification required; AND
  • Other: Candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check, Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate and valid Oregon driver's license may be required.

  • Experience working in correctional facility preferred
