Paul House and Health Care Center is looking for a Wound Care Nurse to join our compassionate, care-giving team! The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for providing primary skin care to residents with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin disorders.
Wound Care Nurse Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides treatment protocols to ward off skin irritation and infection for wounds that may not heal well, because of other medical problems, such as diabetes or poor circulation.
- Cooperates with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure that the resident’s total regimen of care is maintained.
- Interprets restorative care policies and procedures to personnel, residents, family members, etc., as necessary.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
- Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
- Develops and participates in programs designed for in-service education, on the job training and orientation classes for newly assigned personnel.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Wound Care Nurse Qualifications/Requirements:
- LPN/RN credentialed in IL, license in good standing.
- Experience in long-term care is preferred.
- Compassionate and empathetic personality.
