Summary:
Responsible for coordination and communication of injured worker data to BWC, MCO, TPA and client companies. Responsible for pre-authorization for special tests and services, along with reporting results of such tests to appropriate parties. Responsible for updating critical client information to department-specific database.
Formal Education Required:
a. Associate degree in business or related field of study; or Certified Medical Assistant.
Experience & Training Required:
a. One (1) year of experience with direct responsibility for claims management process of self-insured and/or state funded business.

a. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
b. Ability to maintain working relationships with employees, employers, physicians, hospital departments, State agencies, and external agencies participating in management or review of claims, and claimants’ lawyers.
c. Ability to perform typing, operate calculator, and utilize computer tracking systems, specifically department-specific database.
d. Must maintain confidentiality of employee records.
e. Ability to perform in a work team environment.
f. Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
g. Ability to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
h. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.
