Atria's growing Digital Marketing department is looking to hire an experienced and talented WordPress Developer to build and maintain websites for Atria's suite of branded communities. The WordPress Developer role will be responsible for both back-end and front-end development including the implementation of custom WordPress themes and plugins as well as site integrations, security enhancements, and performance monitoring.
The following essential functions are the fundamental job duties of the position to be completed.
- Working within an Agile scrum team environment - attending and actively engaging in all scrum team ceremonies (i.e. daily stand ups and sprint grooming, planning, and retrospectives)
- Providing leadership/guidance/mentoring to both developer and non-developer team members
- Building and maintaining Atria's suite of branded community websites.
- Collaborating with UI Designers/Copywriters, translating page design mockups into front-end code.
- Architecting and managing WordPress website's back-end including database and server integration.
- Generating custom WordPress themes and plugins.
- Troubleshooting WordPress website content and performance issues.
- Monitoring the performance of the production WordPress websites.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven work experience as a WordPress front-end/back-end developer.
- Extensive experience working with front-end development technologies including CSS3, Sass/Less/Compass, JavaScript/jQuery, and HTML5.
- Experience using automated build tools (i.e. Webpack, Parcel, Gulp, etc.)
- Extensive experience writing PHP leveraging OOP principles.
- Experience with Laravel, Symphony, and/or other similar PHP frameworks.
- Experience working with Git version control system.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipeline automation systems (i.e. Jenkins, Go, ADO, etc.…).
- Experience working with debugging tools (i.e. Chrome Inspector).
- Experience building/consuming RESTful APIs and understanding of API architecture patterns. Familiarity with API query frameworks is a plus (i.e. GraphQL, oData, etc.)
- Experience working within WordPress multisite architecture.
- Experience with Node and NPM.
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks including Vue.js, React, Angular and/or similar MVC/MVVM frameworks.
- Knowledge of relational database management systems (i.e. MySQL, SQL Server, etc.…) and/or “no-sql” databases (i.e. Mongo, etc.…).
- Knowledge of test automation frameworks (i.e. Selenium, Cucumber, TestCafe, Postman, etc.).
- Good understanding of Lean/Agile software development methodologies.
- Good understanding of website architecture and design.
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have or be willing to get a COVID-19 vaccine, subject to legal requirements.
