JOB SUMMARY:
Supervise the activities of Maintenance in Weld – Assembly and Stamping Press Room to achieve optimal levels of productivity, quality, and safety to assure internal and external customer satisfaction.
ORGANIZATIONAL
Reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Interfaces on a frequent basis with the Assembly Leader, Tool/Die, Purchasing, Material Control, Quality Assurance, Plant Engineering. Interfaces with IT, and Colleagues Growth and Development, on an as needed basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
(Including, but not limited to)
- Provide key Maintenance input into the development of Department strategy goals.
- Oversee the maintenance activities of the Weld/Assembly and Stamping area to achieve productivity, quality and cost reduction goals.
- Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant business plan goals.
- Support plant activities towards achieving customer awards and Quality registration (ie.,; QS9000, Gold Pentastar registrations etc.)
- Promote and support the Plant Quality and Safety policies.
- Interface with customers, contractors and suppliers as appropriate.
- Support Plant Engineering in process improvement initiatives and activities.
- Drive and oversee root cause analysis and problem solving activities.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Oversee proper development and implementation of maintenance related training.
- Develop a preventative and predictive maintenance program and track activity.
- Approve all Weld-Assembly and Stamping maintenance time sheets and forward to payroll in a timely manner.
- Ensure accountability and discipline.
- Effectively communicate weld maintenance issues and stamping issues to the maintenance leader(s).
- Assure proper inventory levels of required replacement parts for weld-assembly area equipment and press room equipment.
- Follow all prescribed internal and manufacturer maintenance procedures.
- Comply with all internal OSHA required safety procedures and assist the Weld-Assembly area with the same.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie.; Quality Policy Manual, Colleague Handbook, Level II Procedures etc.)
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work area.
- Coordinate/participate in team problem solving activities.
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
- Assure all direct reports are aware of their EH&S responsibilities and hold all direct reports accountable.
Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS DESIRED:
- Three to five years maintenance experience with robotic welding equipment.
- Minimum three years supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.

- Ability to read prints and schematics.
- Experience in applying lean manufacturing concepts.
- Knowledge of standard quality practices.
