Job Description
- Treatment of a 6 year old patient with spina bifida in accordance with his active plan of care as provided by the physician and other appropriate personnel
- Clinicians will have the opportunity to learn or continue practicing nursing skills by administering his prescribed medications, managing trach, G-tube care, assisting with prescribed therapy exercises throughout the day, and the opportunity to perform specialized hands-on treatments that are unique to this client and rarely seen in other clinical settings.
- Documents all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care
- Educates the patient and family regarding the disease process, self-care techniques, and prevention strategies, in meeting the patient's nursing needs.
- Schedule: One day on the weekend and/or a weekend night
Qualifications
- Active Nursing License in good standing (required)
- Attention to detail
- Time Management skills
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution
- Good organization and effective communication
- Willingness to join the team in facilitating an environment and activities conducive to the improvement of the patient’s quality of life as well as assisting him in achieving his developmental goals
