Here is a high level overview of the position.
We are looking for a candidate that understands software design and architecture patterns and has experience working with legacy code bases.
A conceptual and human-centered problem solver. Someone who seeks to understand people’s needs, motivations, and behaviors - in order to translate them into impactful results.
Bonus Points for NASA experience, full life-cycle development in an enterprise development environment, Database experience, financial industry, or cloud experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop technical interfaces, specifications, and architecture
- Use and adapt existing web applications for apps
- Create and test software prototypes
- Develop client displays and user interfaces
- Develop prototypes and architectures for new concepts and technologies
- Create conceptual data models for database interaction
- Perform implementations and support for higher and lower-level environments and other duties as assigned
- Consistently produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Work independently, or, in a team-based development process, contributing to planning efforts, design discussions, and demos
- Solve and/ or recommend solutions for complex data issues and problems, including modifying existing features, debugging, and developing new ones
- Integrate software components and third-party programs to meet given specifications
- Communicate with internal and external clients to gather information, evaluate user feedback, and optimize the user experience
- Compile and document timely, comprehensive, and accurate documentation and/or reports as requested
- Collaborate with the project team to conduct root cause analysis of issues, reviewing new and existing code and/or perform unit testing
- Adhere to best practices, maintain code documentation, and write / maintain test classes for all custom development
- Take ownership of release cycles to implement and deploy new/updates to existing applications and code
- Use data analysis, manipulation, and report generation skills as needed
- Develop UI components using variety of Microsoft technologies including .NET, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, etc.
- Other assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of strong knowledge and experience using Microsoft Technologies including NET MVC, JavaScript, AJAX, Classic ASP, etc.
- Development using relational databases, preferably SQL Server
- Knowledge of at least one of the .NET languages (e.g. C#, Visual Basic .NET) and HTML5/CSS3
- Experience developing sophisticated web-based user interfaces
- Deep technical knowledge of REST and RPC APIs
- Knowledge of discrete control, reactive systems, automated planning and scheduling, formal methods
- Experience developing cross-platform build scripts with CMake, GNU autotools, and/or GNU make
- Experience with additional programming languages: Shell scripting, Java, Python, XSLT
- Experience developing real time OS applications
- Experience with modern software management tools preferably Azure DevOps (ADO)
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies
